Cute Puppy

"Nose-to-nose!"

This is now the picture of one of the puppies born yesterday. Three are brown, one black and one white… So you see, I love puppies! I’d enjoy them more when they’re bigger. I’d open their mouths and then hmm… I love the smell! But when they grow older and stop sucking the mother’s breasts, I wouldn’t do it anymore because it’s the milk (I guess) that makes the good smell.

Oops! I Did It (Again and Again)

Was about to rest (sleep) this afternoon after lunch when our pregnant dog was wailing, as if calling for help. We knew she's due to deliver her puppies about this time. She was so noisy while waiting for her pups to come out. I asked Lingling (the dog); "Is this your first time?" My kids were cheering: "C'mon Ling, you can do it! Push! Push!" In just about 30 minutes, alas! There goes one pup. But I noticed that she doesn't know what to do because she did nothing. Unlike our other dog, she ate that cellophane-like covering of the pup so it can breath. I was already worried the pup would die so I bravely held the covering and tore it - breathlessly, so I couldn't smell the blood and the sticky water (or else, I'll throw up). Ew! Ew! Ew! Whew... it's alive! I immediately washed my hands and applied alcohol. After a few minutes, there's another shiny thing behind her! Still the dog did nothing, and so I did it again. And again, and again... until there's five puppies in all! I couldn't even remember how many times have I washed my hands already, because after I've led the pup to its mother's breast, I'd wash my hands. Now, I'm starting to worry about the food supply, but my kids are so excited! They even took a video on it. So, I'll be giving them all after about two months from now. Puppies, anyone?Actually, this is not the puppy I'm talking about, just a sample of how it looked like

My Honeytweet

One of my fav'rite photo of hers - she loves doing funny faces...
The girl who can shoo away dad's bad mood...

She loves spaghetti too! (Like me)

Her favorite - swimming! You have to stop her or she'll stay in the pool for 5 hrs...

This is my daughter, Shekinah Rio. Shekinah means "glory of God" because we really wanted to honor God with this precious Gift. Rio was taken from his dad's name Rioben. I guess it's a sign of a submissive and a proud wife - as if telling people "this is our baby!" LOL! Anyways, people call her Honey or Honeytweet. When I was pregnant with her, I didn't undergo an ultrasound examination because; 1) the doctor did not advise me to; 2) me and hubby liked to be surprised with the gender. But we prayed for a girl because the older child is already a boy. But deep inside me, I could feel it was a girl. I was thinking; maybe it's a psychological effect because of my desire for a baby girl. I loved the cartoon character Tweety Bird that time that I told my hubby if it's a girl, I shall name her Tweety. Praise God, He granted our wish. So, we started calling her Tweety. But friends commented they don't like the name because it's like a bird. But my parents, family and hubby's family calls her Tweety already. But still, we decided to change her name to Honey. My mom was confused LOL! Finally, we thought it'd be best if we'll combine her old nickname with the new. And the rest is history hehehe... I will be posting next time some reasons to glorify God for this girl.

Puntod Friends

I guess we all have up to four groups of friends. Me, I have friends from the church, neighborhood, office, hometown and those who belong to the "etc." group hehe. For now, I will post about my friends in the neighborhood. Actually, they are hubby's childhood friends. He has shared to me how close they really were especially when they were young. In fact, three couples were formed out of that group who eventually were married (after 10 years in relationship - since high school). Other things he's shared was their childhood and youth activities, and also their "foolishness" before. When I married the Puntod guy, I was thankful that they all were very warm to me and made me feel comfortable with the group. I was kinda adopted member. As years pass, some of them already went to live abroad. But, yearly we have this sort of a reunion because they would always find time to spend vacation in the Philippines and they really try to gather the whole gang. I'm also thankful that these friends respect our faith. They're not offended when I and hubby don't drink... Following are some photos of our bonding moments. I will be posting about my other group of friends next time...

A Day at Jollibee

One weekend I brought my kids to Jollibee-Limketkai. I told them to occupy the vacant table and be seated while waiting for me. While in queue, my son approached me and told me he wanted to help so he stood beside me. When we got our orders, I noticed that a man was sitting at the front of my daughter (the same table), but he stood up when he noticed us approaching them. Honey said the man wanted to know my son’s number and that he wanted to borrow my cellular phone which she was holding. That, she was already afraid because she suspected the man had bad intention (to take the cellphone away). Thank God he left as soon as he saw us.

I blamed Kent for leaving his sister alone. I comforted Honey (who’s obviously still nervous) that, when she’s afraid she’ll just have to pray. Kent said he’s also afraid that the man might just be hiding somewhere in the mall waiting for us. I said “I pray that that man will be caught by a policeman.” I was surprised (and blessed) with Honey’s answer: “Me, I pray that he will have a good life so that he will not anymore do bad things to people.” Uh, okay…yeah, she’s right…exactly!...Well, isn’t it a good attitude for a 9-year old girl?

Beautiful Sunday

Today's another beautiful Sunday. Why? We're able to praise, worship and hear God's word with our brethren during the first sevice of the Jesus The Shepherd Church in it's own building at Balulang, Cagayan de Oro. A historical event of the church! And today is Father's Day in the Philippines (I just learned that other countries celebrate it to another month). Pastor Raul delivered a very nice message not just for fathers but for all of us.

Anyways, as we just moved in the building, we don't have airconditioning units yet so we used some electric fans because the place is hot. But despite that, it did not hinder us to praise our God and to have fellowshipping. As expected, we left the place two hours after the service LOL! This is the time to mingle with our fellow believers. I love fellowshipping time. I also thanked God that despite the distance now, people still did come to church. Well, we're still in the adjustment period.

Ps. 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity."

My "Secret" Dream

A few days ago, I blogged about how I forgot how many years me and hubby were married (funny)... One of my supposedly "secret" dreams is to have a cruise with my hubby on one of our wedding anniversaries, or even without occasion, just a sort of bonding (besides, we both love to travel and have adventures). Just like what our church pastor and his wife did last year during their 15th year anniversary. Well, there’s nothing impossible with God. I know, in His own perfect time, He will grant our wishes one by one.

Well, speaking of cruise, there’s this upcoming Heatwave Celebrity Cruise which sails on January 7-11, 2010 from Miami, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico. The experience will include live concerts, private receptions and singing around the piano with the stars. Isn’t it exciting, guys? Come and see all your favorite Motown Stars too! I know it’s gonna be a wonderful experience… Oh, if only I’m in Miami, Florida, I’d gladly grab this rare, exciting opportunity.

Joke Time!

An officemate of mine shared her text message forwarded by her friend. Hope this makes you smile:

Preacher : Brothers and sisters, we will be renovating our church building... For this, I'm encouraging you all to give your share for this project. I request the organist to please play us a song. As the music is playing, those who will give their share will stand up so the usherettes will just approach you, you don't have to come in front.

Organist: (Whispers) What shall I play?

Preacher : (Whispered back)"Bayang Magiliw..." (National Anthem)!

Talk About Discipline

My daughter asked me to do their group assignment to be submitted tomorrow. I gave in to the request because as the leader in the group, she’s responsible for the outcome of their report, and that made her anxious. Besides, I found out that the assignment was not that easy for Grade 4 pupils. While doing it (drawing the equator and lettering), I noticed that she and her brother were arguing. Hmm…well, it’s just the chair; the girl wants to sit on it (near the TV) but her brother’s already seated there. The girl reasoned, she just stood up to get something and there he goes. I warned them. Few minutes later, they’re quarelling again. It’s the electric fan. The older one set it towards his direction only. For the second time I warned them; that when another argument comes, I will have to spank them. They will just choose – with a belt or slipper. In less than 10 minutes, they did quarrel! Because of the electric fan and the chair again. Without a word, I got my slipper and hit them both. I told them already before that if they’d fight, both of them will receive a “reward.” So they did a “duet” (cry) tonight and, they missed their favorite TV show because I sent them to bed immediately. Hmm, discipline, discipline…

Prov. 13: 24 “He that spareth his ROD hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.”

Goodbye, De Luxe

Tomorrow will be our last Sunday service at De Luxe Hotel. After a couple of years, we’re finally giving up the place starting the third Sunday of this month because, praise the Lord, we’re moving to our brand new Jesus The Shepherd Church building at Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.

When we held our last and final practice at the hotel early this evening, we noticed that the place looked good, the chairs were covered white. I jokingly commented; “If you’ve been doing this every time, we could have stayed in this hotel.” But seriously, we’re happy and excited to use the blessing the Lord granted the church. This evening was the last time the Music Ministers will be hauling the instruments from the center to the hotel. It’s the last time that we’d ask the hotel personnel to reserve any of the first 2 rooms on the first floor (sometimes we’re declined of it).

Anyways, if I’m not mistaken, we started the construction of this building around two years ago. Finally, it’s useable already, although there are still some portions to be finished like the windows. We believe, the Lord will complete this soon. With this, I am also calling the JTS people to relay the message to our brethren who were absent last week, for them to be informed of the transferring. We're saying goodbye, De Luxe Hotel...and thank you.

John 1:16, “From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.”

HA-HA-HA-HOW COULD I?

As Cagayanons say; "joker"(actually, they mean “funny”)... Last May (1st week) I posted about our wedding anniversary entitled "We're 13 Years Already." While riding on a passenger jeep this morning, I was thinking about Bogie’s exhortation during our prayer meeting; how time flies…with the text “Be still and know that I am God.” I was thinking; me and hubby are really getting older. Our eldest son is already 13 years, and so on…13 years old! Suddenly I remembered; we tied the knot in 1995! It means, we’re married for 14 years already hahaha! How could I forget this very significant event of my life? Was it just due to over-occupied mind, or a demonstration of “how time flies”?

Isa 46:4 “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.“

Environment Month

Month of June is Environment Month. So, as employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, we were all required to attend the program last Monday. This time, we did not “escape” LOL! Although the covered court is very hot, we patiently sat down (most of us bringing fans) until the end of the program. This is also a time when some employees enjoy watching programs while others prefer being inside the air-conditioned office.

Usually, I’d request my boss for me to stay inside to do my usual computer works, but that morning I felt I wanted to join the group outside. Thank God, I enjoyed the program because t’was also sort of a variety show; some rendered song numbers (solo and duet) and one even did a Hawaiian dance (Pearly Shells). Haha! I remembered I have also danced that when I was in high school. Until now, I could still memorize the steps, but of course, I wouldn’t dare do it again! Never! not even in my imagination LOL.

Anyways, what’s noteworthy of activities like this is that you will be reminded and be thankful for God's wonderful creations and of course, a reminder for us that we should be good stewards of the environment.

“Everything is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof" (Ps. 24:1)

The Dream

I was sewing my kids’ short pants tonight while watching TV. I learned that there’s a new soap at GMA-7; “Adik Sa Iyo.” The story started with one of the leading ladies having a dream. While watching, I remembered some of my own dreams. I’ll share to you one:

One midnight, I woke up crying (as in, with sound!). My hubby of course wondered what’s wrong. I told him not to worry because I was only dreaming. He asked me what the dream all about was. I didn’t want to tell him at first. But he kept on insisting, so I was forced to ‘reveal’ it: My dad (who already passed away 20 years ago that time) was having an affair! I was sooo depressed and sooo angry with the “other woman.” Then I told him the ‘highlight’ of the story: the other woman was Gretchen Baretto! As in – the famous actress LOL! of all people…

After my narration, my hubby laughed his heart out (me too), that we covered our mouths with the blanket because the surrounding was already very quiet. Oh, what a dream...

“Our mouths were filled with laughter.” – Psalm 126:2

Wedding Songs & My Hubby

Mayette of Words From My Heart gave me this Wedding Song meme (thanks mai). This is quite simple as you will just have to choose your favorite wedding songs. So here are my top 5 favorites. Nos. 1-4 are often sung by my hubby (a wedding singer) on family members and friends' weddings.

1. "I Will Be Here" - my hubby sung it during our Spiritual Wedding/Renewal of Vows a few years ago.
2. "My Treasure" - I like it when he sings this during bridal marches.
3. "Love Will Be Our Home" - Every time this is sung, I'm deeply touched.
4. "Forevermore" - I'm more inlove with my hubby when he sings this on weddings!
5. "Father We Commit To You" - the first time I heard the song was when Jeneath of Beautiful Feet sang it on Mayette's wedding. T'was nicely sang that I fell inlove with the song.
Now,I'm tagging this to some friends whose partners are equally sweet and might be of help to their future weddings or renewal of vows... P.S. - You can hire my hubby too! hahaha...

I Found It!

Hahaha! As I posted "The Lost World," I immediately viewed it. I was surprised that it's there already. Oh c'mon... I blame it on the net's server hehehe. It appeared after 15 minutes from my log-in.

It's also a lesson for me. I will try exploring on the blog every now and then to learn more about blogging so that I won't panic when little troubles like this happens haha!

The Lost World

I slept early last night due to headache. At first I was worried what might be the cause. But I realized, maybe it's just due to lack of sleep, because I was so busy last Saturday night. Thank God, I'm okey, indeed I just need to sleep. Though I was also planning to browse and make updates on the blogs, I did not give in to it.

Anyway, as I excitedly opened my blog this morning, usually I check on the "Hello World" first, but to my dismay, it's not there anymore. Whoa! What happened? I think I need the help of my good friend Bogie - one of my tutors. Calling, calling Bogie.
